Our story
Aussie Checkers began as a deceptively simple idea: take the familiar friendliness of draughts, then layer in the tactical richness of chess. The result is a game that anyone can pick up in minutes, yet one that rewards foresight, patience, and nerve.
In concept, it is a bit like football. Two opposing teams line up facing each other, and the object is to get one of your players past the opposing team to the opposite end of the board. It demands skill and judgement. Attack with too many pieces and you leave holes in your defensive line; attack with too few and your advance may fail, leaving you open to a counter-attack. The winner is the player who strikes the right balance between attack and defence.
Imagine combining the simplicity of traditional checkers with the strategic depth of chess. That's Aussie Checkers.
Produced under the Greens label as "a great new Australian game of skill for the whole family", Aussie Checkers was built on four promises printed on the very first box: easy and fun to play, simple to learn, played in minutes, and an exciting challenge for two players.
The manifesto
Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers.
The round heads in the square holes — the ones who see things differently. They are not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. But the only thing you cannot do is ignore them, because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius — because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.
Aussie Checkers is a game for exactly those people: the ones who would rather out-think than follow.
Our mission
We exist to put a genuinely strategic game into homes, schools, libraries, and community halls across Australia and beyond — a game that bridges generations and proves that thinking differently is something worth celebrating.
